To get a better understanding of New Zealand and its history, we decided to go to the Auckland Museum in a large park called The Domain. We also decided to walk the three kilometers through the city to get there. The Domain is a huge park but it seemed like there were few places flat enough for a game of KUBB.
Near the top of the rise (we gained about 165 feet) was this tree, perfect with seats and shade before we got to the museum.
The building was originally a World War I memorial but time has passed and so has the museum. It covers geology to Maouri and then white settlement. It seems to be a good balance.
The view from the museum north is the harbour with all its activity and islands. The Sky Tower is out-of-frame to the left.

In the evening, we just had to go up into the Sky Tower. We didn't go up to the Jumping Level or the Revolving Restaurant Level...only the 50th floor. We sat and ordered drinks and snacks while the sun went down and the city lights came up.
