Here is the common kitchen, laundry, restrooms, and shower at the camp ground. We were a little cramped in our little hut but the weather was nice and we spent a lot of time out-of-doors.
We overheard at the hot tubs that groups staying at the campground were at Rotorua for the national finals for paddle boat races. The groups were all under 19 both young men and women and some were mixed groups. We had to go watch. Since it was the last of five days of races, we only saw the last few races. Lane three came in first in this race.
In the afternoon, we went through the Te Puia Maouri cultural center to learn a bit about the indigenous culture.
The Maori used the geothermal pools for cooking and swimming but we only stood for a selfie in front of one of the geysers. We skipped bathing in the hot mud as we were told that the rotten egg sulfur smell lingered for days.
In the evening, we prepared spaghetti for dinner. Yum. Yum.
Then, a restful night in the bunkbeds. Middle of the night restroom trips were a little awkward.
