On the road, a rainy, foggy, windy road.
On the road to Oamaru, we also stopped at the Moeraki Boulders near Hampden. 25 MPH winds, temperature in the low 40s, constant drizzle, and crashing waves dictated that we wouldn't spend much time at the ocean's edge.
The accreted boulders seem to have been buried in the sandy shore and are washed out as the shoreline crumbles into the sea. This one with Bev and Jan is a fairly recent addition.
Bev is jumping on this boulder to push it into the sand so it will be protected.
Our daughter and family came to New Zealand late in January early in February and stopped at this very playground in Oamaru. We stopped here and had lunch in the car. We were too early to check into our rental and outside it continued to be inside weather.
Car lunch in the rain. Jan and Mike seem to be enjoying the fare.
Out on the dock at Oamaru with the rain and cold and wind lashing the waves in from the Pacific Ocean. Tied on the near pier and fishing boats docked on a Good Friday afternoon.
We finally spent enough time around town that we could check into our rental. Looking across the street was this address. Fancy that.
