Up early in the morning before the sun rises, we get on a taxi to cross the Nile River to get to the western side. We’re at the site of a massive hot air balloon launch.

We’re airborne! In a gondola that holds perhaps 16 people. Our whole group and a few more. We’re excited!

At an altitude of perhaps 1,000 feet, Candy took a 360° panorama of our view. Be sure to see it below including the aerial view of the Hatshepsut Temple toward the end. All too soon, we’re back down and in a van on our way to Al Gouna on the Red Sea.

On our way, we go along the Nile Valley for a while and see fields being worked. Then, it’s back to the desert. We glimpse the Red Sea about 2/3 of the way through our 5 hour drive.
